Preventive Health Checkup

“Prevention is better than cure”, says an old age which will stand true always. “ಬೀಸೋದೊಣ್ಣೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ್ರೆ ಸಾವಿರ ವರ್ಷ ಆಯಸ್ಸು”. There are many ailments that are silent killers – Diabetes, Hypertension, Thyroid disease, Cancer, and Cardiac disease, many of which come to light only when it’s too late or when it becomes life-threatening.

There have been multiple instances where a diabetic is diagnosed only when they come in a serious, life-threatening diabetic ketoacidosis or an acute massive myocardial infarction(heart attack) which is most definitely life-threatening.

Hence, emphasis on regular health checks up is a must. All individuals after the age of 40 years should undergo an annual health checkup, irrespective of their health status.
